How to Make Glass Unbreakable

Wet the interior side of the window's glass with some extra-strength window cleaner. If you don't have access to cleaner, fill a 2-quart spray bottle with distilled water, and add one drop of baby shampoo or similar soap to the water. Thoroughly dampen the interior side of the window's glass with the cleaning solution. Use a squeegee or similar tool to scrape the window clean.

Measure the height and width of the window's interior glass. Lay out the shatter-proof film on a flat surface. Measure, mark and cut the film with measuring tape, a pencil and a utility knife. Add 1/2-inch overhang on each side of the film.

Soak the adhesive side of the film with your soapy spray solution. Apply some soap to your fingertips and peel the film from the adhesive sealer attached to the back side of the film.

Place the adhesive side of the film onto the window. Align the top right and left corners of the film with the upper corners of the window's glass. Leave a 1/8-inch overhang on each side of the window's glass. Slowly flatten the rest of the film onto the window, while making sure the edges of the film are aligned with the edges of the window.

Wet the film's surface with some distilled water. Use a squeegee or similar tool to press out any air bubbles in the film's surface. Spray generous amounts of water on the film's surface to prevent it from drying out while you're removing the air bubbles.

Wipe the excess water and moisture from the film's surface using a lint-free cloth. Allow several minutes for the film to dry and adhere to the window's glass.
