How to Change a Deadbolt Lock in a Metal Door

Deadbolts are a popular choice for exterior doors due to the level of security they provide, though they must be properly maintained. Most deadbolt lock cylinders are the same diameter, making for easy removal and reinstallation. If the lock is no longer in working order or your keys have been compromised, you will need to take the lock to your local hardware store and purchase a replacement of the same size.
