How to Fog Proof Windows

Fog can appear on your car windows when the outside air and the inside air are drastically different temperatures. The condensation that occurs when the two types of air combine causes the glass to fog up. It's dangerous to drive with foggy windows and wiping the moisture away with your hand is not only distracting, but it creates streaks from the moisture and the oils on your hand. Prevent the fog from ever forming on your windows by applying a moisture-blocking barrier using a standard household item.

Glass cleaner
Paper towels
Foam shaving cream

Instructions

  Clean the inside of the car windows well, using the glass cleaner and paper towels. Allow them to air dry completely.

  Coat the window with a thin layer of foam shaving cream. Use your hands to cover the window with a layer about one-eighth inch thick. Allow the shaving cream to sit on the window for 5 to 10 minutes.

  Clean off the shaving cream using paper towels. Wipe down the glass until there are no streaks and no bits of shaving cream left.

  Repeat steps 2 and 3 with each of the car windows. Reapply the shaving cream treatment every three to four weeks to prevent the car windows from fogging up.
