How to Remove the Logo Plates on an Andersen Sliding Door

Andersen sliding doors and sliding screens use a logo plate on the end of the door panel opposite the handle. The logo plate covers the holes on the end of the door not using the handle. If changing the slide of the door from a left-hand to right-hand slide, it is necessary to remove the logo plate to install the handle on the opposite side. Removing the logo plates on an Andersen door is simple once you know where to find the securing screws.

Instructions

    • 1

Pry off the caps covering the heads of the securing screws on the inside of the door, behind the exterior logo plate, using a utility knife. The caps are round and install on the inside blank plate or might be imbedded in the door frame.

Remove the two securing screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Place the screws in a safe place for installing the logo plate later.

    • 3

Grab the top of the logo plate and pull it away from the door. If necessary, slide a putty knife between the logo plate and the door frame to gently pry the logo plate away from the door.
