How Do You Take Out a Lock That Is Stuck in a Door?

Locks require occasional lubrication, a fact that many homeowners don't seem to know. Without periodic maintenance, the lock mechanism can seize and stop operating properly. If repair is not an option, or you simply want to replace the lock, it may be more difficult to remove than one that is in working order. Removing a stuck lock requires a bit more elbow grease, combined with extra care to avoid damaging the door and trim. Locks removed by force are no longer usable, but they are easily replaced.
