How to Adjust a Door Sill

The door sill prevents air and water from entering your home through a gap at the bottom of the door. The sill should sit flush against the bottom of the door. When light is seen under the sill, an adjustment is necessary. Over time, the sill settles, opening a gap; perform an inspection at least once a year to check for a proper seal. Most sills are adjustable both up and down with a turn of the screws.
