How to Adjust a Glass Door Closer

Bracket Adjustment

  Push the glass door open and slide the metal stop so that it prevents the door from shutting. Adjusting the bracket is necessary if the glass door does not close completely.

  Remove the screws that hold the bracket against the actual door not the jamb. Do this with an electric screwdriver.

  Slide the bracket forward on the door so it is closer to the direction where the glass door handle is located. This allows the bracket to come forward slightly and it is usually enough to enable the door to close properly.

  Add the screws back into the bracket with the screwdriver.

  Release the metal stop to allow the door to close completely.

Adjusting the Closer

  Adjust the pneumatic closer by using a screwdriver to tighten the screw on the end of the cylinder. Turn it to the right to allow the door to shut in a slower manner. This works because it increases the air pressure inside the closer.

  Twist the screw on the end of the cylinder to the left if you want the door to close more quickly. This decreases the pressure inside the pneumatic cylinder.

  Open the glass door and allow it to shut to determine if it requires further adjustments.
