Open the bottom sash if you have an Ellison double-hung window. Flip the tabs upward so they point to the center of the screen. This unlocks the screen from the window frame.
Grab the plastic tab at the bottom of the screen with one hand. Pull the bottom of the screen away from the window, and pull the entire screen into the room.
Check the inside of the window frame for four slots. They are 1-inch long and visible on the window frame. This is where the screen frame locks into the window frame. There are four along the bottom half of the window frame and two near the top half of the window.
Extend the metal tabs on the new full window screen. There are two small tab levers on each side of the screen. The tab handle should point toward the center of the screen.
Hold the plastic tab at the bottom of the screen frame with your fingers. Insert the screen at an angle through the window. Position the screen so the top is in the window frame as well as the bottom.
Hold the tab with one hand, and push the metal lock tab handles on the lower half of the screen back toward the screen frame. This will lock the screen into the window frame.
Lower the bottom sash and the upper sash. Pull the plastic tab at the top of the window screen with one hand, and lock the two metal tabs into the window frame.
