How to Repair Torn Wallpaper

      Often home owners find the wallpaper is accidentally torn when the family is moving furniture around or the wall is hit with a pointy object. And watch out for kids who like to play in the house. One or two accidents involving ripped or torn paper is certain to happen while they play. Lets get started repairing that ripped wallpaper. First search the wallpaper for any rips. Work gloves or disposable gloves are also a good idea to protect hands and wallpaper. Make sure gloves are on before continuing the wallpaper repair.

      Next, gently pull back the torn wallpaper section exposing the wall underneath. Apply a generous amount of white glue. Elmer glue or even crafting glue works good. Continue applying the glue to the wall behind the torn paper with a small size painting brush.

      Take a large damp sponge and gently press the wallpaper back down onto the wall. Smooth the newly repaired wallpaper down firmly. Remove any glue that seeps outside the ripped wallpaper. Take a look at the newly repaired wallpaper. Repair future rips or tears the same way.
