How to Remove Wallpaper Glue Before Painting

Removing wallpaper is time consuming and can be very stressful. That stress level can go through the roof when you discover that you still have to remove that nasty wallpaper glue residue. Although it can be menacing and unsightly, that glue isn't there to stay. There are home remedies just for situations like this. Things You'll Need

  • Spray bottle
  • Vinegar
  • Hot water
  • Metal scraper
  • Bucket
  • Dish detergent
  • Clean rag
  • Paper towel

Instructions

      Mix 1 part hot water with 1 part vinegar in spray bottle.

      Spray mixture onto glue residue.

      Let sit for 10 minutes.

      Scrape glue residue off wall using metal scraper. Remove residue from metal scraper with paper towel as needed.

      Fill bucket with hot water and dish detergent.

      Wash walls using water from bucket and clean rag.
