How to Remove Stubborn Border Wallpaper

It can also be messy, with flakes and pieces of wallpaper throughout the area where you are working. With this in mind, leave yourself plenty of time to get the job done.

Instructions

Score the surface of the stubborn border wallpaper with the paper tiger. Rub the device on the wallpaper to make small holes and tears.

    • 2

Work your way around the room with the paper tiger, covering the wallpaper with small holes and tears. The more crevices, the better.

    • 3

Turn off the electricity in the room where you are working. Cover the outlets with duct tape.

    • 4

Fill a bucket with one part vinegar and three parts hot water. Dump a sponge in the bucket. Rub the surface of the wallpaper with the wet sponge. Wait an hour to give the wallpaper glue time to soften and repeat this step.

Scrape the wallpaper border off with a putty knife. Continue to add the vinegar solution with the sponge to tough areas.
