Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water. Add 1/2 cup trisodium phosphate.

Apply the cleaning solution to the walls with a sponge. Work in 4-foot sections so the solution doesn't dry into the walls.

    • 3

Let the cleaning solution sit on the walls for a few minutes to dissolve the glue.

    • 4

Scrape the glue off with a wide putty knife. Hold the putty knife at a 20-degree angle to effectively remove all of the glue. Wipe the putty knife with a rag after each pass to get the glue off of the knife.

Continue this process until all of the glue is gone. Rinse the walls with a clean sponge and the trisodium phosphate solution to remove any residue.
