Instructions

    • 1

Set up the room you are working in. Lay drop cloths on the floor and over furniture and other fixtures in the room. Cover electrical outlets with duct tape to keep water out.

    • 2

Pour 2/3 cup hot water and 1/3 cup Downy into an empty spray bottle. Put the lid on the bottle and shake it up to mix the ingredients.

    • 3

Wet about a four-square-foot section of the wallpaper with the fabric softener solution. Let it sit for about 20 minutes.

    • 4

Scrape the wallpaper from the walls with a putty knife. Run the knife gently up the wall, starting at the bottom of the section and moving the tool upward. Avoid applying too much pressure to the wall with the putty knife or you risk damaging the wall.

    • 5

Spray more Downy solution onto that section and scrape again with the putty knife to remove any glue residue. Move on to the next section and repeat this process.

    • 6

Wipe down the walls with warm, soapy water once all of the wallpaper is down. This will remove any residue left on the walls.
