Remove wooden baseboards and wallpaper from the interior basement wall, if these are present. Remove non-cement-like or crumbling plaster. Ensure the walls are smooth in order to prevent tears or unevenness in the membrane.
Measure the wall height and cut the equivalent length from the membrane roll using scissors. Wind a strip of Platon sealing rope around the plaster plugs, positioning the blue-colored pliable seal onto the shaft under the plug's head.
Hold the edge of the sheet level with the top of the wall. Drill through the membrane and into the basement wall, counting three studs in from the left edge and moving up into the center gap between four equidistant studs. Use an electric drill with an 8 mm drill bit. Wipe the drilling dust from the membrane using a paper towel.
Fasten the plaster plug through the drilled hole, using a hammer. Straighten the top edge of the membrane using a carpenter's level. Fasten the right edge to the wall using the same method as you did for the left side.
Overlap each installed membrane by at least two studs with each subsequent membrane sheet, as recommended by Platon. Fasten the overlap along the top edge with two plaster plugs, positioning each one between two studs. Complete the top-edge installation of all membrane sheets along the basement walls.
Fasten plaster plugs at 6-inch intervals into a stud nearest to the overlap edge in order to secure the vertical overlaps between membrane sheets. Attach all of the membrane sheets using a diamond pattern that essentially staggers rows of plaster plugs to create the diamond shape. Fasten each plaster plug in the center gap between four equidistant studs and use at least 13 plaster plugs per 10 square feet of membrane.
Wipe all overlapping joints with a paper towel to remove residual dust particles. Center Platon's recommended Fleece-back Overtape along the overlap joint and smooth into position to complete the installation.
