How to Fix a Door Knob Hole in the Wall

If a door does not have a stopper installed, at one point or another you’ll likely have to repair a hole in your drywall caused by the doorknob. Even with a doorstopper installed, you can accidentally damage your wall by opening the door too hard. Although you can repair a hole in your drywall with drywall compound, it is a worthwhile investment to install a wall protector plate instead. This will cover the hole in your drywall as well as prevent future damage to the wall. Wall protector plates can be inexpensively purchased at your local hardware store.
