Instructions

    • 1

Clean the plaster surface around the dent or crack. Use a clean rag and mild detergent to remove all traces of dirt and grease from the damaged plaster. Allow the cleaned area to dry thoroughly.

    • 2

Sand away any chipping or peeling paint from inside the dent or around the crack. Wipe the area with a piece of tack cloth to remove the dust left from sanding.

    • 3

Stir the CrackSHOT with a sturdy paint stick to mix any ingredients that settled during shipping and storage.

    • 4

Apply the spackling paste to the crack or dent with a clean putty knife. Press the thick paste into the opening with the flat side of your putty knife. Push the spackling paste evenly into the damaged area by swiping the knife in opposite directions, pressing the paste against the inner edges of the indentation.

    • 5

Smooth the surface of the filled area with the edge of your putty knife, creating an even surface between the repaired area and the surrounding surface. Dip the putty knife in clean water and swipe it over the surface one more time to help smooth the spackling paste. Let the CrackSHOT dry completely.

    • 6

Clean your tools. Use water to clean your putty knife immediately. Wipe up any spackling paste spills or drops with a wet rag before they have a chance to dry.

    • 7

Sand the dried spackling paste with a piece of fine-grit sandpaper. Buff the area of repair lightly to create a smooth, even surface that matches the surrounding plaster. Wipe the sanded surface with a piece of tack cloth prior to applying paint, varnish or primer.
