How to Get Rid of Mold & Mildew in the Crawl Space Under a Mobile Home

Mold is an organism found in nature responsible for decomposing vegetation, nature's own "cleaning system" if you will. When mold is found trapped in housing structures and other buildings that humans and animals frequent, it can become a huge hazard because it can become toxic and intoxicate humans and animals alike with its harmful bacteria. Crawl spaces are common spaces for mold to grow because of the concentration of equipment used to run the house and the high moisture content. Remove all mold from your dwelling as soon as possible to avoid getting sick from the harmful mold spores.

Instructions

    • 1

Put on the safety equipment and the body suit.

    • 2

Spray fungicide all over the crawl space. If you have a dirt crawl space, try to open up some skirting to let some air flow through to dry out the fungicide.

    • 3

Shovel any mold you see growing in the dirt into the bucket, and throw it away in the woods.

    • 4

Scrub any surfaces you can reach with a sponge.

    • 5

Place a liner down to brighten the crawl space and deter mold from growing.
