Remove the pane of glass from the window. If the window is a divided pane window, you only need to remove one section. Measure the size of the opening. Mark the measurements on the plywood.
Cut the piece of wood to the dimensions of the window opening with the saber saw. Place the vent hood in the center of the board. Trace the diameter of the vent hood. Use the drill to start a hole in the center of the traced vent hole to fit the saber saw blade. Cut out the vent hole with the saber saw.
Attach the vent hood to the board. The round part goes on the inside and the hood section of the vent goes on the outside. Use the caulking gun to run a bead of caulk around the hole, sealing the vent hood and the wood to prevent bug invasions and heat loss.
Place the wood board in the window pane. Use the caulking gun to run a bead of caulk along the edge of the board and window pane.
Place a 90-degree elbow on the vent hood on the inside. Position the elbow so the bottom opening faces toward the floor. Use foil tape to seal the vent hood to the elbow.
Continue adding vent pipes and 90-degree elbows until you reach the back of the dryer exhaust hole. Wrap all joints with foil tape to seal the joints. The dryer vent shouldn't be more than 25 feet away from the dryer.
Attach the vent pipe to the exhaust hole on the back of the dryer. If you need a curve, use an elbow connected to the vent pipe and exhaust hole to join the two together. Use foil tape to seal the joints.
