How to Circulate Heat From a Pellet Stove

A pellet stove is a very efficient and inexpensive way to generate heat. It burns wooden pellets for fuel, and works in much the same way that a fireplace or wood-burning stove does. Different makes and models are available in many configurations. Although many work on the principle of radiant heat, some may have a blower for a more even heat distribution. However, there is a relatively simple solution to circulate the heat from a pellet stove into whichever room or area you desire.

Choose a fan that will best address your needs. There are many types available from large and small plug-in fans, room-to-room doorway fans and even fans that are made to rest on top of a pellet stove that use no electricity.

Place the fan where you want the heat circulated. A non-electric pellet stove fan will blow hot air directly off the top of a burning pellet stove and provide whole room heating. A desk or floor fan will blow heated air from one room to another. A room-to-room doorway fan gets attached near the top of the door jamb and blows heated air unobtrusively into any room it is pointed at.

Turn the fan on and direct the airflow to the room or rooms where you want heated air circulation. A ceiling fan works much the same way. Since hot air rises, by blowing the air downward, you will achieve total warm airflow circulation in that particular room.
