Adjust the spring trip eye bolts on the plow until the trip spring coils begin to separate. As they start to separate, tighten the adjustment bolt four turns.
Grease all the fittings on the pivot bolt and king bolts.
Take a look at the cutting edge and make sure it's at least four inches in height and it isn't unevenly worn. Replace it, if necessary. Check all the bolts for tightness.
Adjust the runner height so the cutting edge is ½-inch off the ground. Follow the instructions for your specific plow.
Check the hoses for leaks. Look for dripping hydraulic fluid. Flush the hydraulic system and refill with hydraulic fluid. Follow the instructions on the hydraulic fluid cans.
Check the lights and make sure they work. Check the plow hydraulics and make sure they work. Use the control lever to make the plow go up, down, to the left and to the right. Follow the markings on the control lever housing.
