How to Fix a Flat Tire on a Craftsman Snowblower

The last thing needed during a snowstorm is for your Craftsman snowblower to have a flat tire. Fixing a flat tire is rather simple, but could be time-consuming if it is not done properly. Within an hour, you can have your machine up and running, blowing away that pesky foot of snow that dumped down on your driveway.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the snowblower. Never work on a snowblower or any equipment with the engine running. These are dangerous machines that can injure you.

    • 2

Locate the hole in the tire. It might be a small nick or a large hole with a nail sticking out.

    • 3

Connect the can of fix a flat to the tire's nozzle if the tire has just a small nick. If the tire is big, use more than half a can. If the tire is smaller, use less than half a can.

    • 4

If the tire has a large hole and must be replaced, place the jack under the snowblower's frame. Find the sturdiest section of the snowblower, which is usually under the motor, and lift the snowblower with the flat tire in the air.

    • 5

Unscrew the tire with the 3/8-inch wrench. Slowly take the tire off the machine.

    • 6

Remove the tire from the rim. This might be hard and it might feel like the tire won't come off, but it will.

    • 7

Replace the old tire with the new tire. Sears stores do not carry snowblower tires. You will have to order them through the Craftsman parts phone line. Make sure it is firmly snug on the rim. Place the tire back on the machine.
