How to Load a Snowblower on a Pickup Truck

Measure from wheel to wheel the width of the snowblower.

Drop the tailgate on the pickup truck.

Place a set of ramps against the dropped tailgate according to your measurements.

Maneuver the snowblower behind the ramps. Make sure it is turned off.

Push the mower slowly up the ramps. Keep the wheels on course. Push the blower into the truck bed as far as possible without hitting the truck's rear window so the blower doesn't have a chance of cracking the window. Lock the tailgate back into position.

Secure the snowblower inside the truck bed with ratchet straps. Secure a strap around the blower's motor. Most of the weight is in this section, and strapping it will secure the bulk best. Also strap down the handles, the highest point of the snowblower. This will help the snowblower from tipping over around tight corners. If your truck has open rings on the side of bed, use those to strap the blower down. If your truck doesn't, attack the straps to the undercarriage of your truck through the wheel wells. Some trucks have side rails on the inside of the bed. You can attach to those as well.
