How to Repair a Toro Snowmaster 20 Spark Plug

Replacing the spark plug on your Toro Snow Master 20 is something you can do yourself. There is only one spark plug on the Snow Master 20, and it provides a spark for the fuel to burn inside the cylinder. The spark plug should be changed regularly to provide smooth engine operation. A fouled spark plug will cause the engine to burn more fuel than necessary. A spark plug that does not get changed will eventually fail.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the spark plug wire on the outside of the engine. The spark plug is located at the end of the wire as it goes into the engine.

    • 2

Remove the spark plug wire by grasping the end of the wire with your hand. Gently pull the spark plug wire off toward you.

    • 3

Remove the spark plug using a ratchet and a spark plug socket. You must turn the spark plug in a counterclockwise direction to remove it.

    • 4

Insert the new spark plug into the threads of the engine. Thread the spark plug with your hand in the clockwise direction until it is hand-tight. Tighten the spark plug using a ratchet and spark plug socket.

    • 5

Attach the spark plug wire to the top of the spark plug by pushing it onto the tip of the spark plug. Confirm that the spark plug wire is attached to the spark plug.
