How to Use the Toro Snowmaster

The Toro Snowmaster is designed to remove snow from driveways and sidewalks. It typically works best on snowfall up to 8 inches deep. It is lightweight, making it easier to maneuver, especially down steps or steep places. It runs on a gasoline and oil fuel mixture and is started with a pull cord.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix the fuel in a separate container. This unit requires a 32:1 mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil. Fill the tank outdoors. Do not fill the tank when the engine is operating or hot.

    • 2

Depress the fuel bulb located on the upper part of the machine. Flip the ignition switch to "On." Pull the starter rope. If the unit won't start, adjust the choke control located near the ignition switch. After the unit starts, adjust the choke switch back to the "Run" position. If the engine is already warm, there is typically no need to use the primer bulb or choke.

    • 3

Push the running snowblower toward the snow, starting on one side of the driveway or sidewalk. Move forward to remove the snow. Note where the snow is being discharged to ensure it is not directed toward glass, cars, children or pets.

    • 4

Move at a steady pace. Pushing too fast could overload the snowblower.

    • 5

Allow the engine to run for a few minutes after clearing a driveway or sidewalk. This will remove snow that has built up inside the auger. Snow left inside the machine could freeze and affect start-up during the next snowstorm. Let the engine cool before storing the unit.
