How to Instructions for a Toro Snow Blower

Shoveling snow is physically demanding and can lead to injury. Toro snowblowers are mechanical devices that help remove snow from walkways, driveways and roads with less of the burden that comes with shoveling snow. The snowblowers run on a gas and oil mixture that you need to create yourself. You will get more from the Toro snowblower by learning how to properly operate the machine.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix 4 ounces of 2-cycle motor oil for every 1.5 gallons of gasoline. Remove the fuel cap from the top of the Toro snowblower, pour in the mixture to fill the tank and replace the fuel cap.

    • 2

Turn the ignition key, located to the left of the fuel cap on the top of the snowblower, fully clockwise and move the choke lever fully to the right. The choke lever is located behind the left wheel.

    • 3

Press the primer bulb twice, holding it in for one second during each push. The primer bulb is located to the right of the ignition key.

    • 4

Plug an extension cord into the power jack located to the left of the right wheel and plug the opposite end into an electrical outlet. Push the electronic start button to start the machine, or alternatively pull the recoil start cord to start the snowblower. If you choose to pull start the machine, the power cord will not be needed. The electric start button is located behind the ignition key and the pull cord is found on the top of the snowblower.

    • 5

Unplug the extension cord when the engine turns on and move the choke lever slowly to the left over a three to four minute period of time as the engine warms up.

    • 6

Push the snowblower by the handle up to the area covered in snow that you want to clear. Snow will enter the opening on the front of the snowblower as you push it forward.

    • 7

Pull up on the control bar, which is attached to the top of the handle, to start the Toro snowblower's rotor blades. The rotor blades suck the snow into the discharge chute and eject it from the machine. Push the snowblower forward slowly to allow the rotor blades to break up the snow, draw it into the machine and discharge it through the chute. Release the control bar to disengage the rotor blades and stop blowing snow.

    • 8

Grip the lower handle of the discharge chute and turn it to the left or right to change the location of where the snow is thrown. Move the upper handle up or down to change the trajectory of the thrown snow.

    • 9

Turn the ignition key fully to the left to shut down the snowblower.
