The auger part of the snow thrower is responsible for propelling the snow from the machine as you use it. Over time, the drive belt and the control cable stretch. When this happens, the engine will seem to run normally while the auger will seem to hesitate or slip. You can repair it by eliminating the slack to create more tension. If you troubleshoot this part first, you may not have to take apart the machine to fix it.
