How to Troubleshoot an Ariens 924

If you live in an area that gets a lot of snow during the winter months, you know how quickly that snow can build up and how much of a danger it can be on your driveway and sidewalks. The Ariens 924 is a snow blower you can use to easily clear these areas of snow without using a shovel. If you are having trouble with your Ariens 924, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to fix it.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill the fuel tank if the Ariens 924 will not start or does not stay on more than a few seconds after starting. If the snow blower still does not start, try cleaning the fuel lines as they may be blocked and preventing fuel from getting to the engine. If this does not work, replace the spark plug on the engine.

    • 2

Turn the choke lever to the "Off" position if the engine begins stalling or operating at a lower power than normal. If the choke is in the "Off" position and the engine is still cutting out, turn off the machine and check the impeller unit for any debris or obstructions. If this still does not solve the issue, drain the fuel tank and put in new fuel to remove any water or other contaminants.

    • 3

Turn off the snow blower immediately if you notice excessive vibration or noise while operating it. If any parts are loose, you could damage the machine or injure yourself if you continue to operate it. While it is turned off, check all of the screws and bolts on the machine and tighten down any that are loose.

Check the snow chute for blockages or ice clogs if the machine does not throw snow. If there are no blockages, or if the machine continues to vibrate or make loud noises, you most likely have a hardware problem and will need to contact the manufacturer or a mechanic for assistance.
