Snow Rake

• A snow rake is a piece of equipment that allows you to remove snow from the roof without climbing on the roof. Snow rakes come with handles that adjust to various lengths. To use them, a person stands on the ground, raises up the rake on top of the roof, and pulls the handle toward the ground, which brings the snow off the roof and onto the ground.

Protective Gear

• You'll need to wear protective gear to stay warm and ward off frostbite. A thick coat, gloves, hat, scarf and waterproof boots are recommended.

Snow Shoes

• Snow shoes will make it easier to work around the perimeter of the house. They distribute your weight, will prevent you from sinking into heavy snow or drifts and will allow you to work faster.
