How to Repair a Toro Power Curve

The Toro Power Curve is effective at clearing large amounts of snow from your driveway and walkways during the winter. Two parts on the Power Curve, the scraper and rotor, may break down with normal use and need replacement. The scraper is the metal piece on the bottom of the snow blower that lifts up the snow as you push the Power Curve over it. The rotor breaks up the snow before it exits the chute.

Instructions

  1. Scraper Replacement

    • 1

Turn off the Toro Power Curve and unplug the extension cord to ensure the snow blower isn't accidentally started when replacing the scraper.

    • 2

Lay the Power Curve down so you can access the scraper on the underside of the rotor housing.

    • 3

Unscrew the farthest forward screws on the left and right side plates, and then the screws attached to the scraper on the bottom of the snow blower.

    • 4

Pull the scraper off the machine and dispose of it.

    • 5

Line the mounting holes on the bottom of the new scraper with the mounting holes on the bottom of the Power Curve, and insert the two screws.

    • 6

Insert and tighten the screws on both side plates to secure the scraper.

    Rotor Replacement

    • 7

Turn off the Power Curve, unplug the extension cord and lay the snow blower on the ground so you can access the underside of the machine.

    • 8

Remove all of the screws on the left side plate with a Philips screwdriver and pull the side plate off the machine.

    • 9

Pull the pin out of the middle of the rotor wheel with your hands to release the rotor.

    • 10

Grip the rotor and slide it to the left to pull it out of the slot, and then lift it out of the housing. Dispose of the old rotor after removing it from the Power Curve.

    • 11

Slide the new rotor into the slot on the right side of the Power Curve and then turn the rotor with your hand until it locks into the housing.

    • 12

Press the locking pin that you removed in step 3 into the center of the rotor wheel. The pin will click when it is fully inserted.

    • 13

Reattach the side plate on the left side of the Power Curve and insert all of the screws removed in step 2.
