Instructions

  1. Starting Procedure

    • 1

Connect an extension cord to the engine starter adapter and plug the cord into a 120-volt, 3-wire grounded outlet.

    • 2

Orient the discharge chute so it is pointing straight ahead. Verify that the traction clutch and attachment drive levers are completely disengaged.

    • 3

Push the primer bulb two or three times if the engine is cold. Set the engine throttle to the "Fast" position for normal or warm starts or to "Slow" for cold starts. If engine is cold, also apply choke. Insert key into the ignition and turn to the "Run" position.

    • 4

Press the starter button on the engine until the engine starts. Do not crank for longer than 15 continuous seconds or damage to the starter from overheating may result.

    • 5

Open the choke gradually as engine warms up. Disconnect the extension cord.

    Operation

    • 6

Move the speed selector/direction handle to the notch for forward or reverse travel and desired speed. Notches are numbered from "1" (slowest) to "6" (fastest) in forward mode. Notches in reverse mode are numbered "1" (slow) and "2" (fast).

    • 7

Engage the attachment clutch using the right hand lever.

    • 8

Engage the traction drive clutch using the left hand lever.

    • 9

Clear snow from an area by running the unit in overlapping paths. Be sure to keep the discharge chute oriented so that snow is directed away from the area being cleared and is aligned with the wind direction.

    Shut Off

    • 10

Release traction drive clutch and let the unit come to a complete stop. Let the impeller keep running for a short time to prevent freeze-up.

    • 11

Release the attachment drive lever and wait for moving parts to come to a complete stop.

    • 12

Move the engine throttle to the stop position. Turn ignition switch to "Stop" and remove the key.
