How to Use Snow Blowers

Snow blowers have been used for several decades to make the process of removing snow much easier. Similar in use to lawnmowers, snow blowers are comprised of a gasoline motor which drives a set of blades which are used to remove snow. Snow blowers are available in a range of sizes from large tractor-mounted units to much smaller snow blowers with handles like lawn mowers.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill the snow blower fuel tank with gas, then replace the fuel cap on the tank.

    • 2

Prime the carburetor with fuel by locating the red priming button located on the front of the snow blower. Press the priming button three times to pump the correct amount of fuel into the carburetor.

    • 3

Pull the starting rope with your dominant arm while holding the clutch bar with your other hand. The clutch bar is located just below the large handle bar of the snow blower. This will allow the engine to start without the blades rotating.

    • 4

Release the clutch bar while the engine is running to start the blades. Position the snow blower in the path you wish to clear of snow, turn the snow chute so that it deposits snow where you wish, then push the snow blower forward to begin removing snow from the sidewalk or driveway.
