Yardman Snowblower Instructions

The Yardman 2M1 is a lightweight and compact single-stage snow blower designed for typical consumer use clearing driveways, sidewalks and patios after a light snowfall. A four-cycle 123cc MTD gasoline engine with recoil starter powers the auger-assisted drive system. The 2M1 has a clearing width of 21 inches and its intake height is 10 inches.

Instructions

  1. Starting the Engine

    • 1

      Push the ignition key into the ignition slot to prepare to start the engine. The ignition key does not turn.

      Slide the choke lever on the front of the engine to the "Choke" setting if the engine is cold. If the engine is warm, place the choke in the "Run" position.

      Press the primer button on the right side of the engine housing five times if the engine is cold. If the engine is warm, push the button once.

      Pull the starter handle out slowly until you feel resistance, then let the rope rewind. Pull the starter handle rapidly until the engine starts.

      Slide the choke lever on the engine to the middle position as the engine warms up. When the engine fully warms and is running smoothly, slide the choke lever to the "Run" position.

    Engaging the Auger and Drive

      Squeeze the auger control bar on the upper handle to engage the auger and begin drawing snow into the unit and blowing it out the discharge chute.

      Lift up on the handle to bring the rubber paddles on the auger into contact with the pavement and propel the unit forward.

      Push downward on the handle to raise the auger paddles off the ground and stop forward motion.

    Stoppng the Engine

      Run the engine for a few minutes after snow clearing is completed to dry any moisture on the engine.

      Remove the ignition key to stop the engine, and put the key in a safe place.

      Wipe all residual snow and moisture off the engine housing.
