How to Remove Ice From Driveways and Walkways

Cold weather months often lead to the accumulation of snow and ice on your property. To keep your family members and neighbors safe from a slip or fall, it is important to remove the ice and keep your walkways and driveways clear. Salt quickly melts the ice and helps prevent ice accumulation from re-developing.

  Sprinkle salt over the walkways and sidewalks. Toss handfuls of either rock salt or plant salt across the areas, moving slowly so you do not slip on the ice. Plant salts are typically labeled eco-friendly and are less harmful to surrounding vegetation.
