Power off the Cub Cadet snowblower. Ensure the engine has cooled before proceeding.
Take the muffler off the Cub Cadet snowblower. The muffler is found on the lower left of the engine. Remove the attached bolts with the socket wrench, pull away the muffler and set it aside.
Remove the snowblower's gas tank, using the socket wrench to remove a number of bolts along its exterior. Slide off the gas tank and set it aside.
Remove the Briggs & Stratton carburetor intake on the rear of the carburetor, midway up the right side of the snowblower and bearing a distinctive bowl shape. Several screws and bolts hold the intake in place against the rest of the carburetor. Remove the bolts with your socket wrench and take out the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Set the intake aside.
Position a pan under the carburetor bowl.
Use your wrench to loosen the nut on the underside of the carburetor bowl. This will cause excess fluid to drain into the pan. After the fluid drains out, remove the nut altogether and pull off the carburetor bowl.
