Disconnect the spark plug wire from the engine. Rotate the oil spout fully to the right.
Remove the two screws that hold on the belt cover. Tilt the cover and remove it from the snow thrower.
Loosen the two cap screws that secure the belt guide and move the guide away from the belt.
Push the auger belt away from the idler pulley, towards the rear, then remove it from the idler pulley.
Take the auger belt off the engine pulley and slip it out from under the brake pad.
Remove the two capscrews that secure the bottom cover to the snowblower frame. Unscrew the nuts that clamp the auger pulley belt stops. Move the belt stops and take the auger belt off the auger pulley.
Unscrew the two belts that hold the gear assembly. Loosen the set collar and push the axle shaft to the right.
Remove the auger belt.
Pull the idler belt away from the pulley and remove the belt from the pulley.
Take the belt off the traction pulley and the engine pulley. Pivot the front idler pulley arm for clearance to remove the belt from the traction pulley.
Remove the traction drive belt by pulling it out between the auger pulley and the traction pulley.
Reverse the removal procedure to install both belts.
Adjust the belt stops to produce 1/8 inch of clearance between the belt and its stop.
Verify that the auger stops when the auger drive is released. Verify that the traction drive stops when the traction drive is released. Follow manufacturer's procedure for auger/traction drive tension if either function is incorrect.
