How to Troubleshoot a Yardmaster Snowblower That Won't Start

Yardmaster is a brand that makes several different types of home power equipment, including mowers, sprayers and snowblowers. When the snow is accumulating on your driveway and sidewalks, the last thing you need is for your snowblower to stop working. A snowblower that won’t start may be due to a number of different reasons, several of which you can fix yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Squeeze the clutch bar and hold it down the entire time you’re trying to start the snowblower.

    • 2

Check to see if there is any gas in the tank, and then fill it with the proper mix if it is empty.

    • 3

Press the primer button for one firm liquid depression to get fuel into the system before you pull the starter rope.

    • 4

Move the snowblower into the garage or another warm place to let it thaw out if ice has formed on the pull rope and you can’t pull it out sufficiently.

    • 5

Gently turn the jet on the carburetor all the way in, then back it off 1 1/4 turns. Start the engine and adjust the carburetor until it runs smoothly.
