How to Install Amerimax Vinyl Gutter Guard

Set the gutter guard label side up on your workspace. Measure 3 inches in from the left end just above the top of the grooved long edge and mark a mark it with a felt tipped pen. Cut off the 3-inch piece from the vinyl gutter guard with your tin snips to create a space for the end of the guard to sit underneath the piece that will be installed next to it. Cut off a 3-inch piece from the left side of the groove on all of the other gutter guards.

Clean out your gutters and downspouts with a garden hose. Have your helper keep your ladder steady and empty out the bucket that you put the leaves and other debris into as you clean your gutters out.

Place the vinyl gutter guard, label-side up, onto the open space of the right-most edge of your roof's front gutter. Snap the clip or grooved edge of the gutter guard down onto the top edge or front lip of the gutter and slide the back edge of the gutter guard underneath the edge of the roof shingles so that it is at a rising angle going from the front of the gutter to the shingles of the roof. This will assist with water flowing off the roof and into the gutter. Insert the next gutter guard onto the gutter and slide it over to the right until it meets with the first guard you installed. Slip the cut out section of the first guard underneath the right hand edge of the second guard. Snap the second guard onto the gutter and slip its back edge underneath the shingles.

Continue installing the gutter guards, mating the right side with the cut out edge of the left side of the guard next to it and inserting the back edge of the guard under the shingles as you go. Once you have installed all of the gutter guards, insert the snap-in filters, one per guard, that came with the PVC gutter guard, filter or mesh side up. Push down on the filter to make it snap into place on top of the gutter guard.
