Position the first panel of metal roofing, with one long edge aligned with the edge of one gable and the bottom edge aligned with the bottom of the roof. Drive 1 5/8-inch self-tapping, hex head, sheet metal screws through the metal, one every 12 inches in the bottom of the valleys on your metal panel.
Overlap the next panel along the long edge of the first and screw it in place in the same way. Add full panels to the end of the roof; measure and cut one panel to fit the distance from the last full panel to the edge of the roof using a measuring tape, circular saw and metal cutting blade. Screw this panel in place.
Press a row of butyl sealing tape along the top edge of the row of panels. Overlap your next row onto this tape and press it in place. Screw it down as you did the first row, adding full sheets as far as possible, cutting one to fit at the edge. Add as many full height rows as possible.
Measure and cut panels to fit from the last full row to the peak. Cut enough panels to fill this top row on both sides of the roof. Press the cut panels into the butyl tape on the top of the row below and screw them down.
Fit metal cap trim along the peak of the roof, overlapping the metal on both faces. Screw the cap in place with one screw every 8 inches. Cut pieces to fit as needed.
