How to Install Storm Collar Flashing

The roof is your home's first line of defense against moisture penetration. Its weakest points are the roof penetrations from plumbing and gas appliance vents. These are protected by overlapping layers of flashing that direct the water down the slope. Storm collar flashing provides a second line of defense for the point where the vent penetrates the flashing. Installing one to a new or existing vent is a simple process you can do with a screwdriver and your hands.
