How to Install Finished Soffit Ends

Soffit ends are sections of soffit panel that attach to an enclosed overhang or to an open rafter overhang on the sides of a house. These soffit panels are needed to secure the soffit under the roof overhang. To do this you need to determine how much soffit panel you need. You can obtain soffit panels for the installation at your local home improvement store.

Instructions

  Measure the width of the roof overhang with the tape measure. Make a note of the measurement.

  Transfer the measurement to a piece of fascia board and subtract 1/4 inch. Make a cut mark on the fascia board with the pencil.

  Cut the soffit panel to the required size with the miter saw.
- 4
  Measure and cut additional pieces of soffit panel that are needed for the roofline.

  Place a cut piece of soffit panel on the face of the fascia board. Make sure that the F-channel is sitting under the fascia board.

  Secure the soffit panel to the fascia board with nails using the nail gun.
- 7
  Attach a second piece of soffit panel in place and lock the pieces together. Secure the soffit panel to the fascia board.

  Repeat this process to attach additional soffit ends to the roof overhang.
