How to Adjust a Paslode Roofing Nail Gun

Paslode is a company that manufactures different power tools, including nailers for different applications in the construction industry. Paslode roofing nail guns are designed to fasten shingles quickly and effectively to help you complete a quality job with greater efficiency. Paslode pneumatic nailers work with pressurized air. During use, you sometimes have to adjust the depth of the drive on your roofing nailer so the fasteners are going in just deep enough for the job.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the nails from the nailer. Place a 3/8-inch open-end wrench or a 5/32-inch hex socket wrench into the lock nut to adjust the depth of drive for the nails.

    • 2

Turn the lock nut counterclockwise to loosen it slightly. Move the work contacting element down if the head of the fasteners is being driven below the work surface.

    • 3

Loosen the lock nut. Move the work contacting element up slightly if the fasteners aren’t being driven far enough into the work surface.

    • 4

Continue to loosen the nut and move the work contacting element up or down until the fasteners are being driven into the work surface at the proper depth.

    • 5

Increase the air pressure on the nailer if the nails aren’t being driven completely into the work surface. Reduce the pressure if they’re being driven in too far.
