Close the main water valve for the mobile home’s plumbing by turning the valve’s handle clockwise until it stops. Turn on the bathtub’s faucet to test that the flow of water has been completely cut off, as well as relieve any water still in the pipes.
Open the access panel on the wall directly behind the tub’s faucet. If you do not see an access panel, cut one in the wall using a drywall knife.
Turn the nuts that secure the water lines to the faucet’s stems counterclockwise using an adjustable wrench and pull the water lines out of the faucet’s stems. Clamp adjustable pliers to the locknuts that secure the water lines to the faucet’s stems and turn the locknuts counterclockwise to remove them from the faucet.
Go back into the bathroom and pull on the faucet assembly to remove it from the wall, including the deck plate that sat between the faucet and the wall. Slide the deck plate onto the back of the new faucet and insert the faucet into the holes in the bathroom wall.
Thread the faucet’s locknuts onto the stems through the access panel, tightening them with adjustable pliers. Tighten the nuts on the end of the water lines to the faucet’s stems, tightening the connections with the adjustable wrench. Restore the flow of water by turning the main water valve’s handle counterclockwise until it stops.
