How to Connect Tygon Tube to a Faucet

Tygon manufactures flexible tubing for a variety of applications, including domestic plumbing pipes for kitchen or bathroom faucets. Tygon products are often preferred for their purity, durability and resistance to corrosion. The tubes uses couplers of standard dimensions for hooking up to faucet inlets in the same way you would connect other types of pipe. Connecting a Tygon tube to a faucet takes less than five minutes with basic plumbing tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Twist the knob clockwise on the water supply valve below the sink to stop the flow of water.

    • 2

Use an adjustable pipe wrench to unscrew and remove the old pipe or tube from the faucet if you are replacing the existing piping.

    • 3

Wipe the threaded connection on the supply pipe and the inlet on the bottom of the faucet with an old rag to remove any grime and to dry off the connections.

    • 4

Wrap plumber's tape around the threading on the faucet inlet, as well as the water supply pipe.

    • 5

Twist the coupler on each end of the Tygon tube to the supply pipe and the faucet inlet. Tighten the connections by hand then finish with a 1/4-turn clockwise with the pipe wrench.

    • 6

Open the water supply valve to check for leaks around the Tygon tube. If there are leaks, tighten the coupler on each end of the Tygon tube.
