Installation Instructions for a Westport Whisper Close Toilet Seat

The Westport Elongated Slow-Close Toilet Seat features “Whisper-Close” hinges. Those hinges combine with the included hardware to join the seat to the toilet rim. The hardware includes two sets of nuts and bolts. Installing and tightening the pieces properly ensures a secure and safe connection between the toilet seat and the toilet.

Instructions

  Install the two included mounting bolts into the two holes on the toilet bowl rim. If necessary, clean around the holes first with a rag moistened with rubbing alcohol. A clean surface helps to ensure a snug fit for the bolts.

  Thread one of the two included nuts onto the end of one of the bolts. Tighten the nut against the underside of the toilet. Repeat the procedure for the second nut.

  Hold the first nut in place with your fingers while tightening the accompanying bolt with a flat-head screwdriver. Repeat the tightening procedure for the second bolt. To prevent damaging the toilet's porcelain surface, refrain from overtightening the bolts.

  Position the hinges that are on the back of the Westport Elongated Slow-Close Toilet Seat onto the top of the bolts. Push both hinges down onto the bolts.

  Twist each hinge cap 90 degrees to the right to lock the hinges in place.
