Identify the section of water pipe where you want to install the electrical meter. Make sure the direction of the meter matches the direction of water flow in the pipe.
Close the valve to shut off the main water supply for your home. Open a faucet to drain excess water and depressurize the system.
Cut the section of pipe where you want to install the electrical meter by using pipe cutters. Attach a fitting to the pipe that matches the diameter of the threads on the meter.
Attach each end of the water pipe to the meter. Tighten the fitting using an adjustable wrench to secure the meter onto the pipe. Position the control unit so that it is sits on top of the pipe.
Insert the connector on the connection cable into the connector on the control unit. Tighten the locking ring to secure the cable connector to the control unit.
Hire a licensed electrician to wire the other end of the connection cable to a power supply.
