How to Install a Kohler Mixer Cap

The Kohler mixer cap is a mechanical device that controls the flow of the hot and cold water. It is set by adjusting the faucet's valve, but also self adjusts to compensate for changes in hot or cold water flow. This maintains the shower's temperature and prevents scalding when someone flushes a toilet or turns on a sink. Installing a mixer cap is done by fastening it to the Kohler pressure regulator.
