Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water supply valve for the shower. Newer build homes might have a separate shut-off valve for the shower. If you can't find one, turn off the water at the main water supply.

    • 2

Remove the old faucet, if present. Pry off the faucet handle cap to expose the faucet handle screw. Loosen the screw and pull off the handle. Pull the faucet shaft off the stem. Unscrew the screws holding the escutcheon plate in place. Loosen the bonnet screw and pull the valve out of the pipe opening.

    • 3

Insert the Pegasus faucet bonnet casing into the pipe opening in the wall. The bonnet casing is a cylindrical device that holds the valve in place on the pipe opening. Turn clockwise to secure.

    • 4

Align the Pegasus valve cartridge so it is aligned with the lines in the top of the bonnet. The valve cartridge is the part of the faucet that opens and closes to let water through to the shower head. Slip the valve cartridge inside the bonnet.

    • 5

Secure the cartridge in place with the bonnet screw.

    • 6

Place the escutcheon plate over the bonnet and pipe. The escutcheon plate is a decorative plate that helps to cover the spaces between the water pipe, stem shaft and the bathroom wall. Align the plate so that the screw holes line up with the sockets adjacent to the base of the pipe. Secure with screws.

    • 7

Align the faucet shaft so the notch is at the top of the faucet body. Slip the faucet shaft into place.

    • 8

Slip the handle over the end of the valve. Secure with a screw. Press the faucet cap cover into place.

    • 9

Restore the water supply. Turn on the Pegasus faucet and check for proper operation.
