How to Connect a Python to a Faucet

The Python hose, so named because of its resemblance to the snake, is used for cleaning, draining and filling aquarium tanks. One of the handy features of the Python is its ability to connect to a kitchen or bathroom faucet, letting you work on your aquarium tanks from the comfort of your home. Using the adapter that comes with the Python kit is the best way to connect a Python to a faucet.

  • Python adapter
  • Pliers (optional)

Instructions

      Turn the nozzle on the end of the faucet counterclockwise to loosen it.

      Align the Python adapter so that the rotating coupling is pointed upwards.

      Slip the coupling on the adapter over the end of the faucet.

      Grasp the adapter with one hand. With your other hand, turn the coupling on the adapter clockwise to tighten it.

      Slip the coupling for the Python hose over either the adapter's side or bottom connection, depending on your requirements.
