Turn off the water to your house. To avoid getting splashed with water and creating a mess, it’s always best to turn off the water, even if you’re not going farther than removing the Watco shower handle.
Look for a small Allen screw on the bottom base of the handle, if you have a Watco shower handle. Use an Allen wrench to remove the screw. After removing the screw, pull the handle outward to remove it. If you do not see an Allen screw on the bottom base of the handle, it may be located directly in the middle of the handle.
Remove the Watco shower knob cap if you have a Watco shower knob. The cap is typically a round piece of plastic located on the front of the knob. Place a small, thin object, such as a tiny flathead screwdriver, into the side of the cap and lift up to remove it and reveal a screw. Remove the screw with a screwdriver and pull the Watco shower knob outward.
