How to Refinish a Galvanized Honey Extractor

If you plan to refinish a galvanized honey extractor, consider two fundamental points. Galvanized items are coated with zinc. This leaves them resistant to oxidation. Unfortunately, it also makes them resistant to new finishes. If you want a new finish to adhere to your extractor, treat it with an etching primer or flaking will result. In addition, because honey extractors come into contact with an edible, they require a specific type of enduring paint that won't come loose and pollute the honey.
